Welcome to YouthIn !
Are you a young person involved in solidarity initiatives, or an organisation that wants to improve young people’s inclusion in your projects or governance? If so, you’re in the right place!
This intercultural digital toolkit includes practical resources to strengthen young people’s inclusion and participation in the field of international solidarity. YouthIn is a bridge between theory and practice. You’ll find ideas for action, adaptable tools and practical feedback from the field, all designed to make participation more fair, inclusive and effective.
What does “young people” actually mean?
The term “young people” does not indicate a specific age range. It refers to a transitional phase between childhood and adulthood when teens and young adults become socially, economically, civically and politically independent – a phase that is shaped by factors such as gender, social class, racial and ethnic origin, where someone lives and their economic situation.
When we talk about authentic participation, we mean the meaningful involvement of young people as change agents, and not simply as a group of people that receives support. It’s about working with, trusting, recognising and empowering young people.
We suggest exploring this platform with curiosity, a critical eye and a willingness to take action. Try it out, make it your own and share it! This toolkit was designed to be flexible: use feedback, your experience and lessons you’ve learned to tailor it to your needs.
